Grade Courses

The Plastic Surgery Department at the Hospital del Mar and the Hospital de Sant Pau is committed to training students of the Degree in Medicine at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

In the College of Medicine of the university located in the Art Nouveau Site at Hospital de Sant Pau, the following theoretical and practical classes related to plastic surgery are taught:

  • Optional subject of Plastic Surgery taught during the fifth year of the Degree in Medicine.
  • Optional subject of Surgery and Trauma taught during the fourth year of the Degree in Medicine.
  • Optional subject of Surgery thaught during the fourth year of the Degree in Medicine.
  • Practical classes rotation three months during the sixth year of the Degree in Medicine.

The subjects taught by the team are well-considered and raise the interest of many students who want to specialize every year in the area of ​​plastic surgery.

Proof of this is that every year we must let the school secretary enroll more students than those expected due to their willingness to study the latest techniques in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Among the practical activities, students go with specialists during medical consultations, they visit patients and they attend clinical sessions.

Students are guided in their lectures, thesis, research papers and literature reviews.

The team of Plastic Surgery Department is committed to excellence in teaching in order to ensure the training of the specialists of the future.

Once they have finished the educational program, students get a Degree in Medicine and Surgery.

Plastic surgery is taught as an optional subject in many educational programs.
